Window Sash Installation Instructions

TILTING - To tilt lower sash raise approximately 8" from sill |
Grasp sash at each side of top rail and firmly pull inward. Sash will jump vinyl tracks and pivot at the corners. The upper sash must be lowered to approximately 12" above the sill. Then follow the same procedure to tilt in.

SASH REMOVAL - Tilt sash to a horizontal position. Raise the lower pivot corners of the sash up past the |
The balance mechanism will fully retract. Keep raising upward until |
REINSERTION - Align pivot pins in the proper channel above the carriers. Pins will automatically engage the carrier. Pivot sash in place.

STEP 1. Carefully remove inside stops

STEP 1. Apply jambliners to jambs, with bottom touching the sill and "flange" side touching the blind stop. Press jambliners and drive screws until the head is flush with liner. Readjustment of screws may be necessary during

STEP 2. Remove side parting stop, and then the upper sash. If the window has ropes and pulleys, cut the ropes and remove the pulleys. |
STEP 2. Install sash brackets in upper and lower sash as shown above.

STEP 3. If your existing window has jambliners, once you have removed the inside and head parting stops, the jambliners and both sash can be rotated from the opening as a unit. Be sure that all staples and similar fastening devices have first been removed from the jambliner.

STEP 3. Insert upper sash into opening in full tilt position. Align pivotpins in the proper channel above carriers. Allow pins to drop into carriers. Pivot sash into place. Repeat for lower sash. Then reinstall the inside trim stops and head parting stop. |
